He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruth Burleson Buckner; his siblings, Howard, Luther, Doris, Bonnie, Betty Jean and Carol; his parents, William Buckner and Ada Sue Rice Buckner; his daughter Tammy Hensley (James) of Asheville; his grandchildren, Nikki Swarts (Travis) of Asheville and Candace Thomas (Chris) of Georgia; his great grandchildren, Logan Swarts (Alex) of Marion, Caleb (Haley) of Georgia and Londyn; his great great grandchildren, Rowyn and Wylder; and his siblings, Barbara Wilson (Don), Helen Jarrett and Dennis. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ashlawn Gardens of Memory (901 Aiken Rd, Asheville, NC 28804).
