It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Bishop (Asheville, North Carolina), who passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Bishop and Madge Hamrick Bishop; the mother of his children Vivian Bryant Bishop; and his brothers, Bob Bishop, Rodger Bishop and Jerry Bishop.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Norton Bishop; his children, Jack "Chip" Bishop, Jr. (Phyllis), Michael Bishop (Lori), Betsy Bishop Knox (Jack) and Kevin Bishop (Sherri); his grandchildren, Claire, Michael, Christopher, Gerald, Jack, Quinn, Anna, Sara and Zachary; his great grandchildren, Melody, Vivian, Genevieve, Celeste, Harper, Evie and Esriella; and his sister Joan Lawson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the West Asheville Baptist Church (926 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens (3302 US-25, Hodges, SC 29653).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or to Samaritan's Purse. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Jack Bishop 's name.
