He was predeceased by: his parent Jewel Franks; his wife Linda Raines; his stepfather James Harwood; and his siblings, Kenneth Raines, Marvin Raines and Peggy Raines.
He is survived by: his sons, Scott Raines (Kathy) of Kingsport, TN and Bryan Raines (Jill) of Kingsport, TN; his siblings, Gene Franks of Asheville, NC, Clara Lawerance (Charles) of Oteen, NC, MaryLou Camby (David) of Hayesville, NC, Johnny Raines of Asheville, NC, Danny Raines of Oteen, NC and JoAnn Lunsford (Korki) of Weaverville, NC; his grandchildren, James Raines, Krystal Carico (Dylan), Nathan Raines (Taylor) and Kayce Maldonado (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Braxton, Anaston, Kaden, Ashetyn, Reagan and Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a love donation be made to Balfour Baptist Church.
