She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Lee and Viola Lyles; her siblings, Sharon Lyles and Grady Lee Lyles, Jr.; and her son Winston Todd Mapp.
She is survived by: her husband John; and her sisters, Catherine Kinnard of Asheville, Deborah Miller of Charlotte and Orma Buie of Wilberforce. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
