He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Moore Gardner and Jessie Gardner Sr.; his son Timothy Gardner; and his sisters, Mildred Gardner Wiggins, Addie Futrell and Margaret Freeman.
He is survived by: his brothers, Esau Gardner, Jacob Gardner, Jessie Gardner Jr. and Willie Lee Gardner; his son Clarence Gardner; his brother Columbus Gardner; his granddaughter Takia (Serena Gardner); and his great grandchild Jasmine Davis (Morgan Shreef). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
