He is survived by: his mother Alice Louise Perry Payton; and his siblings, Clarence Payton of Asheville, Allen Payton (Sheena) of Asheville, Charles E. Payton, Jr. (Karen) of Asheville, Charles Ray Payton (Cindy) of Asheville, Sandra Jennings of Asheville, Melody Millsaps of Asheville and Violetha Littlejohn (Billy) of Brevard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.
