It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Johnny Payne of Asheville, North Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hillard Payne and Polly Roberts Payne; and his brothers, Bailey Payne, Bruce Payne and Charles Payne.
He is survived by: his brother Jimmy Payne (Becky) of Asheville, NC; his sister-in-law Robbie Jean Payne of Weaverville, NC; his sibling's children, Shree Beverly (Steve), Chrissy Stollmayer (Werner), Vickie Sarti (Dennis), Gwen Meadows (Jonathan), Phillip Payne, Rick Payne (Teresa) and Jeff Payne (Starla); his friend Shirley Boles; and his goddaughter Tonya Kay Green.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or to Shriners Children Hospital.
