She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Howington and Hannah Howington; her husband James Stewart; her daughter Nancy Stewart; and her siblings, Rosie Howington and Buster Howington.
She is survived by: her children, Doris Stewart (Terry), Betty Joslin and Lee Stewart (Courtney); her grandchildren, Becky Allen (Danny), Jennifer Kuykendall, Ashley Banks (James) and Tiffany Patton (Jonathan); her great grandchildren, Miranda, Tyler, Dillon, Hunter, Madalynn, Bristol, Nash, Lydia and Chloe; her great great grandchild Carson; and her sister Barbara Randall. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Asheville Chapel of Mountain View Funeral, Cremation & Aquamation (336 Rockwood Rd # 101, Arden, NC 28704). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
