She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel A. Whiteside and Weaver Shepard Jr.; and her brothers, Frank Burkes (Ethel), Tim Rogers, Tyrone Shepard and Reginald Shepard.
She is survived by: her children, Katrina Rogers, Charles Smith of Asheville, NC and Angela Smith of Hendersonville, NC; her siblings, Karen Powell of Asheville, Kimberley Wheeler (Jerry) of Warner Robins, GA, Alma "Kris" Bowman of Asheville, Brenda Bowens (Terry), Deidra Armstrong, Jerry Shepard of Detroit, MI. and Orrick Shepard of Detroit, MI.; her grandchildren, Adrienne Rogers, Ava Rogers, Jer-Mayne White, Abreyah Smith, Apryle Rogers, Janay Smith and Ari Smith; her great grandchildren, Zariya Hammond, Chy Rogers, DeAngelo Tucker, Caza Allen, Mackenzie Rogers, NiQuay Boyd, Liam Henry, Hamish Henry, Samorah Carthins, Jaydence Carthins and Nina Nola Smith; her cousins, Esther Winder, Calvin Durham, Albie Pabon, Eddie Wells, Greg Wells and Tommy Rogers; and her uncle Clyde Waters. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
