She was predeceased by: her parents, Eunice Brooks Hart and Joseph Thomas Hart of Boiling Springs; and her grandparents, Arthur and Matilda Brooks of Swainsville, NC.. She is survived by: her husband Raymond Odell Sams of Shelby, NC; her daughter Holly Lynn Sams (Cassie Hendrick) of Shelby, NC; her sister Janet Camille Hart of Wasilla, Alaska.; her stepdaughter Candice Sams Tony (Phil Tony); and her grandchildren, McKiah and Callan Splawn.
Laura believed in organ donation and her kidneys will give new life to the individuals who received them.
