He was predeceased by: his father Walter Knudsen; and his wife Opal Ruth Knudsen. He is survived by: his daughter Sonya Renee Tibbett (Dean) of Pisgah Forest, NC; his siblings, Andy, Holley, Joyce, Walter and Judy Mae; his grandson Ryan Lee Knudsen (Maite); and his great grandchildren, Lalasa, Maliha, Jace and Zion.
