She was predeceased by: her parents, Augustus Mathis-Bolden and Willie Mathis-Bolden; her husband Tom Lyles; her siblings, Claude Jr., Ozzie, Devore, Pellham, Joe, James, Harding Bolden, Barbara Jean Sullivan and Dorothy Young; her sister-in-law Mildred Bolden; and her great grandchild Gregory Jr..

She is survived by: her daughter Diana L. Geter of Asheville; her granddaughters, Mary Geter (Wesley) of Asheville, Diana Murdock (Eric) of Asheville and Latash Allison (Rodney) of Asheville; her sisters, Cerease Rogers of Norfolk, VA and Shirley Haskins of Surprise, AZ; her nieces, Viola Jones (Joe) of Asheville and Cynthia DeVerger (Derrick) of Asheville; and her nephew Marvin Young (Brenda) of Tallmadge, OH. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
