She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Owens and Allyne Payne Owens; her siblings, Francis Owens King, Calvin, Alvester and Sylvester Owens; and her husband Jim Hoskins.

She is survived by: her daughter Gena McCleary; and her stepchildren, Norma Grandy (Joe), Jacqueline Avent (John), Kenneth and Gary Hoskins. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren; countless other family and close friends.
