It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mackey Peterson Griffis (Asheville, North Carolina), born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gus Peterson and Mary Peterson; her brothers, George (Despina) and Johnny; and her great-nephews, Pete S. Yianopolous, William Stamos Peterson and George Patrick Kekenes-Huskey.
She is survived by: her son Pete Alexakis. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and godchildren.
