He is survived by: his wife Chris Smith of Asheville; his children, Janette Robinson (Dustin), Jamie Helton (Rayan), Jacey Helton (Jadon) and Gabrielle Penland (Malik); his grandchildren, Aidan Penland, Xavier Penland, Malachi Campbell and Kylen Campbell; and his sisters, Melissa Helton and Sheila Helton.
