She was predeceased by: her parents, David Oscar and Lillie Mayes Callaway; her sisters, Mary Ruth and Dorothy; her husband Bob; and her granddaughter Courtney Callaway Stancil.
She is survived by: her brother David; her daughter Nancy (Bob); her grandson Bob; her children, Pat Smith (Phil) of Asheville and Bob Stancil (Anne) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Erin Moreau (Tony), Jeff Smith (Stephanie), Brandon Stancil (DeAnna) and Anna Dew (Megan). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Central United Methodist Church (27 Church St, Asheville, NC 28801). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
