Nicholas leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Nicholas’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Nicholas will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his brother William "Bill". He is survived by: his parents, Shelley Marie Clay (Goodson) and Charles "Chuck" Henry Clay; his brothers, Martin and Charles "Chad" (Jeanne); his children, Olivia and Cassius "Cash"; and his stepson Dixon. He is also survived by extended family, and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Folk Art Center (382 Blue Ridge Pkwy, Asheville, NC 28805).
An art exhibition featuring Nick's oil paintings and sketch work will be held on November 13 in the Atrium at Belk in the Asheville Mall, where donations in Nick's name may be given to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
