He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Smiley and Essie Keith Smiley; his sons, Paul Davidson Smiley and Keith Robinson; and his sister Marjorie "Pete" Smiley Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Galloway Smiley; his children, Kim Dunlap, Karen Brooks and Kevin Robinson (Caroline); and his siblings, Bill Smiley (Mary) and Colleen Calhoun. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
