He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Harmon and Mary Griffin Ertzberger; his wife Iva Glenn Shelton Ertzberger; his siblings, James Ertzberger (Genell) of Asheville and Alma Ledford of Asheville; his children, Darrell Ertzberger of Arlington, VA, Tim Ertzberger (Robin) of Hendersonville, Pam Ertzberger of Asheville and Jeff Ertzberger (Heather) of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Lauren Hodges (Brian) of Rocky Mount, VA, Luke, Paul and Joel Ertzberger of Wilmington; his great grandchild Daniel Brian Hodges; his sister-in-law Hilda Shelton of Greeneville, TN; and his cousins, Sandra Perrigo and Donna Coates.
