He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Phillips and Eva Ellis Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Carla Phillips; his daughter Tracey Leidheiser (Bill) of Tryon; his stepson Bobby Holcombe (Shanna) of Asheville; his grandchildren, Anna Hood (Jesse), Conrad Leidheiser, Will Holcombe, Alexis Wescoe and Chloe Wescoe; his great grandchild Brantley; and his brother Dennis Phillips (Sarah).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home (72 Long Shoals Rd, Arden, NC 28704). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
