He is survived by: his children, Sherry Harper Oglesby of Charlotte, NC, Tony Harper of Charlotte, NC, Terrell Harper (Leslie) of Charlotte, NC and Terry Lynn Byrd of Asheville, NC; his siblings, Mildred Davis (Detroit), Kenneth Wilson, Carlton Wilson, Stephen Wilson and Snellville of Georgia; his aunt Pauline (, DC); and his sister-in-law Gloria Harper Gilliam (Lonnie). He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
