It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Gillis Self (Asheville, North Carolina), who passed away on April 29, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Grady Gillis and Edna Wyatt Gillis; and her brothers, James Gillis, Carroll Gillis and Clarence Gillis.
She is survived by: her daughter Selena Raper (Curtis Raper); her grandchildren, Cailyn Raper and Caleb Raper; and her siblings, Ralph Gillis, Edith Silver, Alva Hensley, Linda Sutton, Helen White and Kay Gillis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wanda's honor to South Asheville Baptist Church.
