He was predeceased by: his parents, William Crawford Cairnes and Jennie Harkins Cairnes; and his niece Debbie McSwain. He is survived by: his wife Edeltraud Kroker Cairnes (Ellie); his daughters, Shavon Cairnes and Barbara Cairnes Bridges (Hugh); his grandson Brandon Bridges (Caroline); his siblings, Donald David Cairnes and Patricia Jane Millard; his niece Ronda McKinney; and his nephew David Millard.
