He was predeceased by: his parents, Taylor Hawkins and Bessie Hawkins of Canton, NC.; his wife Evelyn Grace Diggs; and his granddaughter Lauren Patrice Sigmon. He is survived by: his daughters, Patrice Hawkins Sigmon (Allen Sigmon) and Catherine Hawkins Hoffman (Roger Hoffman); his brother Darrell; and his sister-in-law Sara Hawkins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
