She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Nelson and Georgia Nelson; her daughters, Tara Tracey and Nikki Ozimok; and her siblings, James Mendelson and Beverly Scadden.
She is survived by: her husband Neil; her sons, Richard Whatley of Wilmington, N. C. and Patrick Fino of Wilmington, N. C.; and her sisters, Ethel Gremann of New Bern, N. C., Terry Grose of Atlantic, N. C., Mary Nelson of Atlantic, N. C. and Jennifer Godbey of Winston Salem, N. C.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hunting Quarters Baptist Church (108 State Rd 1387, Atlantic, NC 28511). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
