With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Winston Matthews (Aulander, North Carolina), born in Parmele, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 28, 2025 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Corey Matthews and Lloyd Matthews; and his siblings, Thomas (Emmaleigh), Gene, Alfred Ray Matthews, Rachel Conner (Linwood) and Janice Riddick.
He is survived by: his wife Minerva Jean Hall Matthews; his children, Marty Matthews (Shelia) of Millennium, NC and Lori Parker (Joey) of Aulander, NC; his grandchildren, Cody Matthews (Hanna) of Smithfield, NC and Kaitlyn Parker of Aulander, NC.; his brother Jesse Matthews (Jean); and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Matthews, Ola Ray Matthews and Eddie Riddick. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hall-Rogerson Family Cemetery.
