He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Smith; and his parents, Alton Smith and Irene Smith. He is survived by: his sister Vicky Johnston of Clayroot; his son Al S. Smith, II; his brother Anthony Smith (Kathy) of Clayroot; his nephews, Cameron Johnston of Winterville and Clay Smith of Clayroot; and his niece Amanda Smith of Clayroot. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
