We announce the death of Jack Dempsey Ellis of Bahama, North Carolina, who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 81. Jack will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dempsey Ellis and Annie Mae Yeargin Ellis; his son David Glenn Ellis; and his siblings, Russell Ellis and Sue Ellis Poe.
He is survived by: his siblings, Roger Ellis and Della Ellis Whitfield (Bert); his niece Cindy Ellis; his nephew Kyle Ellis Whitfield; his brother-in-law Gerald Poe; his great-niece Taylor Shepherd Parks (Michael); Madelyn Ann Parks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ellis Chapel United Methodist Church (2516 Levi Ln, Bahama, NC 27503). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
