With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Thornton Sr. (Bahama, North Carolina), who passed away on September 9, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Jackson Thornton; his significant other Blanche N. Thornton; his son Robert Jackson Thornton Jr.; and his siblings, Margaret Colclough and David Thornton.
He is survived by: his daughter JoAnne Couch (Chip); his brother Eugene Thornton; his daughter-in-law Trudy Thornton; his grandchildren, April Powell, Tarah Sherr (Jamie), Joanna Havens (Jason), Rebecca Smith (Nathan), Elizabeth Wood (James), RJ Thornton (Jean White) and Stacy Thornton; and his great grandchildren, Abby, Kayla, Camden, Natalie, Kathryn, Maverick, Emily, Everhett and Lauren. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
