She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Sherrill Ward; her sons, Steve Ward (Cindy) of Bakersville and Matthew Ward of Bakersville; her grandchildren, Taylor, Madisson and Jacob; her great grandchildren, Weston, Marley, Harper and Titus; her mother Trula Gardner; her stepfather Dallas Gardner; her father Tilmon Street (Tim); her grandparents, George, Bessie McKinney Rathbone, Harlow and Clarsie Frye Street; her siblings, Dean Gardner (Faye), Donald Gardner (Penny), Danny Gardner, James Gardner, Alane Hobson (Charles), Teresa Sparks (Richard), Eddie Gardner (late Brenda), Lester Gardner (Betty) and Josh Gardner (Charlotte); her half-sister Margo Boyle; her pet Buddy; and her aunts, Georgie Buchanan and June Frye.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Webb Funeral Home (128 Roan Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Palliative Care, and CAP of the Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
