He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lewis Rea, Jr. and Margie Lanning Kirtley; and his sister Laurie Michelle Sanders (Micki). He is survived by: his wife Debra Nicols Rea (Debbie); his son Jonathan Craig Rea; his grandchildren, Wesley Dula, Madison Richards and Jonathan Craig Rea, Jr. (JJ); and his siblings, Richard Lewis Rea, III (Tammy), Marisa Southern (Tommy), Cindi Owenby, Karen Bartlett (Bill), Kris Kirtley, Kelly Sluder (Evan), Tonya Wondolowski (Mike), Chris Rea and James Bently Sanders. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Webb Funeral Home (128 Roan Rd, Spruce Pine, NC 28777). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
