He was predeceased by : his parents, Milt Cole and Nellie Phillips Cole; his wife Katie Greene Cole; his brother David Cole; and his granddaughter Maggie Rea Young.

He is survived by : his children, Shaina Cole Burleson (Coty), Amy Young (Brannon) and Adam Woody (Becky); his brothers, Joe Cole (Ann) and Robert Cole (Janie); and his grandchildren, Evan Briggs, Ayden Woody, Mayce Woody, Hunter Burleson and Harper Burleson.
