She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Townsend and Polly Mae Townsend; her husband Charlie Johnson; her son Henry Johnson; her granddaughter Kimberley Hodges; her daughter-in-law Jeanette Johnson; and her siblings, Adam Townsend, Larkin Townsend, Lillie Townsend, Pearl Stafford, Nellie Townsend, Alice Daniels and Ader Jane Townsend.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Issacs (Carlton) of Zionville, Jackie Mitchell (Ronnie) of Cajah's Mountain, Vivian Hodges (Kenny) of Purlear, Hughie Johnson of Banner Elk and Earl Johnson (Sherry) of Banner Elk; her daughter-in-law Linda Johnson of Lenoir; and her sisters, Viola Daniels of Newland and Lucy Hayes (Donald) of Vilas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one on the way, 13 great-great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; 3 step-great great grandchildren.
