He is survived by: his wife Audrey Byrd Chambers of Banner Elk; his children, Layna Evans (Gary) of Butler and Greg Parsons (Kristina) of Vilas; his grandchildren, Logan Smith, Kyle Parsons, John Ross Parsons, Gary Evans and Taylor Sluder; his siblings, Violet Morefield of Laurel Bloomery, Gail Johnson of Florida, Kathy Chambers of Chilhowie, Wayne of Tennessee, David of Tennessee, Freddie Chambers of Tennessee and Tony Dodi of Virginia; and his sisters-in-law, Margie Aldridge of Foscoe and Jane Ashley (Tommy) of Fleetwood, NC.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
