He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Williams Shomaker; his children, Monica Shomaker Hicks (Michael) of Banner Elk, Heather Shomaker Buchanan (John) of St. Augustine, Florida and Bruce (Kelley Gruelle Shomaker) of Banner Elk; his grandchildren, Sydney Hicks Simonini (Edward) of Oro Valley, Arizona, Tatum Hicks of Johnson City, TN, John Raleigh Buchanan of St. Augustine, Olivia Shomaker Shivar (Stephen) of Houston, Chelsea Shomaker Byington (Kevin) of Deltaville, Virginia and Grace Shomaker Greene (Ben) of Mocksville, NC; and his great grandchildren, Maddie Shivar, Colton Shivar, Lilly Welch, Waylon McGuire, Henry Greene, Isaac Greene and Laramie Greene.
