He is survived by: his wife Pam Barkley Butler; his children, Leigh Butler Shanks (Doug Shanks) and Davis Butler; and his grandchildren, Taylor Butler, Grant Shanks, Bennett Shanks, Celia Shanks, Ryan Butler and Veda Marshall.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Old Historic Site (207 Carteret St, Bath, NC 27808).
