With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Book of Beaufort, North Carolina, born in Newton, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 27, 2025 at the age of 89. As we bid Dorothy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Dorothy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Andy Book; her son Evan; her parents, Walter Wydner and Emily Wydner; and her sister Ann Blake.
She is survived by: her sister Helen Martin (Jim); her children, Adam Book (Steven Steinberg) and Claudia Gillikin (Tommy Dean Gillikin); her grandchildren, Drew Lewis (Jesse) and Christian Gillikin (Katlin); and her great grandchildren, Carlin, Zander and Charlotte Rae. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
