He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Russell Austin and Madeline Gould Austin; and his brother Robert Leroyal Austin. He is survived by: his wife Victoria Gorges Austin; his daughter Alicia Austin Nelson (Frank Hobson Eastman); his granddaughter Kathryn Austin Nelson; his great grandchild Hudson; his son Gerald Daryl Austin, Jr. (Ann Ashley Austin); and his grandson Trey Penn Austin. He is also survived by loving extended family, including sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Beaufort.
