He was predeceased by: his wife Teresa Gail Cruse; and his son Daniel Lee Cruse. He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Cruse Dunford (Timothy) of Kinston and Michael Cruse of Beaufort; his grandchildren, Madison Dunford of Kinston and Isaiah Dunford of New Bern; his great grandchild Nolan Dunford of New Bern; and his siblings, Shelia Jenkins of Jacksonville, Thomas Cruse of Mt. Olive and Billy Cruse of Warsaw.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Garner Funeral Home (209 W Peyton Ave, Kinston, NC 28501).
