She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Smith and Gladys Smith; her son Jarvis Moore Piner II; her husband Raymond Issaac Capps; and her siblings, Mattie Englund, Henry Glenn Smith and George Victor Smith.
She is survived by: her son Lon "Sparky" Piner (Claire) of Smyrna; her stepsons, Richard Capps (Christy) of Saraland, AL and Johnny Ray Capps of Newton, NC; her grandchildren, Christopher Piner of Beaufort, Mary Ann Saunders (Scott) of Chesapeake, VA, Jimmy Paul Piner of Beaufort, John Patrick Piner (Kalah) of Beaufort, Ryan Capps of Saraland, AL, Jack Carter of Saraland, AL, Marissa Lambert (Brannon) of Raleigh and Autumn Thompson (Michael) of San Fransico, CA; and her daughter-in-law Barbara Piner of Beaufort. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 US-70 BUS, Clayton, NC 27520). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
