He was predeceased by: his parents, George Laughton and Mamie Laughton; and his siblings, George R. Laughton Jr., Faye Paul Cherry, Anna Lou Haskins and Shelba Jane Spivey.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Floyd Laughton of Morehead City; his children, Andrea Barefoot (Kevin) of Newport and Justin Laughton of Wilmington; his grandson Noah Barefoot of Newport; and his brother Milton Laughton (Mary) of Beaufort.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Beaufort (403 Ann St, Beaufort, NC 28516). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
