He is survived by: his children, Stephanie of Zebulon, Kristin Harvell (Mark) of Henderson, Michael Johnson of New Jersey and Blake Johnson of Washington; his sisters, Kim Baker (Wayne) of Raleigh and Cynthia Bradshaw of Beaufort; and his grandchildren, Olivia Ortega, Aiden Ortega and Cameron Johnson.
