He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Godfrey James and Margaret James; his former wife Bobbie Maxine Mcfee of Delray Beach; his children, Amy Kilby (Bruce), Mark James (Cynthia Robinson) and George James; his grandchildren, Cheryl, Mathew, Patrick, Carrie, Meghan and Buddy; his wife Erma Pickel Obermayer of Boynton Beach; his stepdaughters, Gayle Kirsch (Mike), Kim Vole (Peter) and Tia Phillips (Marty); and his children, Kathy Barnett (Bill), Ron Rowell (Tom), Steve (Barbara Carroll), Ken, Bill (Kathy) and John (Kim).
