He is survived by: his son Allen Griffin (Jill); his granddaughter Allie Griffin of Ayden, NC; his sisters, Patricia G. Brett of Smithfield, VA, Charlotte G. Hudson (Jerry) of Portsmouth, VA and Marlene G. Jones (Paul) of Hampton, VA; Frances House. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
