With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melton Eugene Alexander Sr. of Belhaven, North Carolina, who passed away on March 6, 2026 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelton Ray Alexander Sr. and Lida Coburn Alexander. He is survived by: his wife Mamie Coltrain Alexander; his son Melton Eugene Alexander Jr. (Catrina Cramer Alexander) of Mount Airy, NC; his grandchildren, Jackson Smith (Caroline) of Mount Airy, NC and Macy Smith Swartz (Austin) of Mount Airy, NC; and his brothers, Robert Vernon Alexander (Bessie) of Kinston, Thelton Ray Alexander Jr. (Sandy) of Varina and Richard Franklin Alexander (Melva) of Williamston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
