She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert H. Hux and Waverly Keeter Hux; her siblings, Herbert W. Hux, Herman, Ferman Hux and Carolyn Hux; her former husband Linwood Simmons; and her husband Lloyd Mullinax (Glen).
She is survived by: her daughter Melodie Ohaus (Richard); her grandchildren, Joshua Ohaus (Lauryn) and Madeline Ohaus (Sam); her siblings-in-law, Joe Simmons, June Simmons, Maxine Mullinax and Ilene Potter; her stepdaughter Beth Fields; and her children, Adam, Nick, Austin and Madison Fields. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Belmont (807 S Point Rd, Belmont, NC 28012).
