With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mavis Smith Harris (Belmont, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2021 at the age of 72. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mavis Smith Harris to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Odell Smith, Sr. and Emma Wooten Smith; and her siblings, Clyde Odell Smith, Jr., Millie Grigg and Jewell Rhodes.

She is survived by: her husband Melvin Harris; her children, Jody Harris (Tracy) and Kelly Mitchell (Neal); her grandchildren, Cameron Mitchell (Chelsey), Bryton Mitchell (Tillie), Colin Harris and Sarah Harris; her great grandchildren, Annabelle and Aiden; her sister Marlene Mitchem; and her pet Cosmo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
