She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Leonard Abee and Blanche Cope; her husband Hugh B. Pursley, Jr.; her son Hugh "Bryce" Pursley III; her siblings, Wilbert C. Abee, Charles M. Abee and Hazel A. Cox; her son-in-law John Cartwright; and her sister-in-law Mary Ruth Pursley.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Cartwright of Chapel Hill; her grandchildren, Cara Henning (Reyco), John "Jay" Cartwright, III (Lara), Benjamin Pursley (Tiffany) and Kristin Pursley; and her daughter-in-law Karla Pursley. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
