He is survived by: his wife Ann Fox Gilreath; his children, Sheri (Jeremy Lewis), Jessica (Kenneth Barr), Patrick Gilreath (Hannah Watts) and Benjamin Crawford; his grandchildren, Zac Lewis, Ellie Jo Lewis, Aiden Barr, Cameron Barr and Genevieve Dunn; his sisters, Sandra (Bob Loyd) and Bridget (Eric Summerville); and his pets, R. J. and Lucy.
The Gilreath family has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Stephen may be sent to the Park Street United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen, 120 Park Street, Belmont, NC 28012.
