Zona Mills Leatherman Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on February 22, 2026, at the age of 78, Zona Mills Leatherman of Belmont, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Beecher Mills and Sophia Tallent Mills Measimer; her husband Benny Leatherman; her sister Dianne Mills Threatt; and her grandson Austin Leatherman.

She is survived by: her sons, Stacy Leatherman (Sandy) and Scott Leatherman; her sister Angela Measimer; her brother-in-law Andrew Threatt; her grandchildren, Mitch Leatherman (Leslie), Kyle Leatherman (Kristal) and Marin Leatherman; and her nephews, Nike Measimer, Anthony Measimer and Scott Threatt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring (Gaston Hospice).
